Amber Closer is designed to support dealerships with structured service follow up for vehicle advisory work already discussed with customers.
The service is intentionally limited in scope and is not a marketing platform, CRM, or customer retention system.
Service related communications
Messages sent via Amber Closer are service related notifications, not marketing communications.
All messages:
- Refer to specific vehicle advisories previously identified
- Are sent at an appropriate future time based on advisory context
- Follow a fixed and finite sequence
- Include a clear opt out option by replying STOP
- Stop automatically once the sequence is complete
Amber Closer does not send promotional messages, offers, or campaigns.
Data protection roles
When Amber Closer is used by a dealership:
- The dealership remains the data controller
- Booking Butler Ltd, operator of Amber Closer, acts solely as the data processor
Personal data is processed only on the documented instructions of the dealership and only for service related purposes.
SMS delivery
SMS messages may be sent from a shared service number operated by Amber Closer.
This number is used purely as a technical delivery mechanism for sending service related notifications on behalf of individual dealerships.
The use of a shared service number does not change the dealership's role as data controller and does not indicate centralised ownership of customer data.
Data usage and minimisation
Amber Closer processes only the minimum data required to deliver the service, which may include:
- Customer first name
- Mobile phone number
- Vehicle registration
- Advisory category
- Advisory timing
No payment data, addresses, dates of birth, or sensitive personal data are processed.
Customer data is not sold, shared for marketing, or reused for any other purpose.
Duty of care
Amber Closer supports documented follow up of vehicle advisories already discussed with customers.
After the defined message sequence is completed, the advisory is closed and no further messages are sent unless initiated by the dealership.
This approach supports clear audit trails and appropriate discharge of duty of care without ongoing monitoring or advisor intervention.
